Foam

Fire fighting foam was designed to suppress fast spreading, highly flammable liquids. It acts quickly by spreading over the surface of the combustible where the foam and its constituents act together to separate fuel from flame, dilute oxygen and cool the fuel. Foam can be produced in a variety of forms, from the liquid foam-water solutions in sprinklers to the fluffy high expansion foam used to fill complete volumes . There are a number of systems to optimize the foam to the application whether the hazard is an aircraft hangar, a fuel tank, flammable liquid storage areas, or many other hazards.
