Aspirated Smoke Detection

Aspirated smoke detection is the preferred choice for very early detection of fires. Aspirated smoke detectors draw air samples throughout the protected space and transport them to the detector. The aspirated system rather than replicating a large number of low-cost devices used in spot type systems, uses one sophisticated detector to analyse the samples. The resulting detection can provide as much as a 90 minute advantage in early warning compared to a spot detector. Aspirated detectors are also able to operate easily in high air flow areas, in large atria, in dirty and cold environments, and other places where conventional detectors can’t.
